Agency SEO Proposal Generator (Free Template)
A proposal template that closes. Used at our agency, refined across 200+ pitches.
By Bo Smith
Most agency proposals lose because they''re too long, too vague, or too dressed up. The proposal that closes is short, specific, and built around the client''s actual situation.
This is the template we use.
The structure
1. The diagnosis (1 page).
- Their current rank in their service area (grid scan screenshot)
- Their GBP gaps (audit results)
- Their indexed page count vs. competitors
- Their missing service-area pages
Lead with the audit, not the pitch. The diagnosis is the value.
2. The plan (1 page).
- Specific deliverables with monthly counts
- Specific KPIs with 90-day targets
- The team that will execute
Don''t list every service you offer. List the services that map to their gaps.
3. The investment (1 page).
- The package and the price
- What''s included
- What''s not included
- Cancellation terms
Three options is too many. One recommended option with a ''starter alternative'' is the right structure.
4. The next step (half a page).
- Sign and return
- Or schedule a 15-minute follow-up call
Don''t pad. Don''t add ''about us.'' The proposal is about them.
The pricing math
Pricing in the proposal should match what you said on the call. Surprises kill close rate.
If you''re unsure what to charge, default to: client''s expected new revenue from local SEO over 12 months × 5-10%. A roofer expecting $300K in additional revenue is fine paying $30K-$45K/year.
The close rate
Diagnosis-led proposals close at 35-50% from a qualified discovery call. Generic proposals close at 10-15%.
What AutomationFire does for agencies
Run free grid scans for prospects. Pull GBP audits. Generate the diagnosis. The proposal becomes a packaging exercise on top of real data.
